I watched this here video, and was not very impressed. At first i was like, “oh, maybe there will be some awesome social commentary on the state of violence/gangs in the world’s urban areas” but in the end it seemed to be just a video of random violent acts, with no reason behind the violence, and no explanation from the artist about the violence. So without any real voice/meaning in the video, it just became a glorification/showcase of violence. Which i think it just kind of stupid.

Apparently i love ”/”

I think the last minute was the most important – up until that point, the kids had never turned on one of their own, but they finally did turn on the camera man, and also didn’t rush to help the guy with the boom mic, who was catching on fire from their acts. A message came across to me.

So, is that the official video for Stress? That’s awfully visceral and real, if so.

Regardless, I want one of those jackets.

Yeah, that’s the official video. It was very controversial in France, where it takes place. Those jackets are disturbingly appealing.

Well, this is actually way grounded in reality. There have been 3 different riots by poor and generally racially oppressed youths. The civil unrest has been steady for close to a year now, and there is a major police effort to tackle ringleaders etc.
